The First Russian Baptist Church is a place of fellowship, a place where Jesus is praised, and a place where one can learn about the saving Grace of Jesus. As Christians we wish to serve our Lord and Savior – Jesus Christ. We wish to share the good news of the Gospel.
The First Russian Baptist Church is an independent Baptist church located in the suburb town of Gorham, Maine. It consists of a group of Christians that immigrated from former USSR. The immigration started in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Because of this immigration, there’s a large community of Russians living in the suburbs of Portland, Maine. A fair quantity of the Russian immigrants attend the First Russian Baptist Church. The current building in Gorham, Maine had it’s first service in 2001, however, the church has been gathering since the early 90’s. Throughout the years, the church has grown to the current ~170 members.
All are welcome. The services are in the Russian language with the exception of the last Sunday (evening service) of each month. Don’t speak Russian? Translation into English is available. Our goal and purpose is to preach the saving Grace of Jesus, serve the Lord, and fellowship with each other as the body of Christ.
